Robinson to Thos. Emmerson This indenture made the 4th of February, 1817, between Mathew ROBINSON of the county and state of Tennessee of the one part and Thomas EMMERSON of the county and state above mentioned of the other part; Witnesseth that said Mathew ROBINSON for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and twenty-two dollars to him in hand paid by said Thomas EMMERSON, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath given, granted, bargained, sold, released, and confirmed unto the said Thomas EMMERSON, his heirs or assigns, a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Franklin aforesaid on the water of the boiling fork of Elk River; beginning on a Red Oak stump; thence East to DAVISON [sic] corner; thence from DAVIDSON line North to the pointers; from thence West to a Swamp Oak; from thence to the beginning; be the same more or less to have and to hold the said tract or parcel of land and all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Thomas EMMERSON, his heirs or assigns forever, and the said Mathew ROBINSON for himself and his heirs, the tract of land aforesaid unto him, the said Thomas EMMERSON, his heirs or assigns, shall and will warrant and forever defend by these present in witness whereof the siad Mathew ROBINSON hath hereunto set his hand and affixed the day and year above written, and signed, sealed, and delivered in presence of David CARSON James EMMERSON Mathew ROBINSON (seal) State of Tennessee Franklin County April Term 1817 Then the within deed of conveyance from Mathew ROBINSON to Thomas Emmerson for seventy-six acres was duly acknowledged in open court; and ordered to be registered, let it be registered. And the witnesses are two Mathew Robertsons.
