Cook, 3 Dec 1858 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Deed Book Z Page 41 Franklin County Archives, Tennessee This indenture made this third day of December eighteen hundred and fify eight by and between Mary Gregory of the one part and C. C. Cook of the other part and both of the County of Franklin and State of Tennessee witnesseth that for and in consideration of the Sum One hundred and nineteen dollars and twenty five cents to her in hand paid by C C Cook to her Mary Gregory in hand paid hath bargained & sold to the Said Cook one tract of land containg (sic) thirty one and 3/4 acres and bounded as follows to wit, begining at a Sugar tree the beginding (sic) corner of R Sharps fifty acres now owned by Said Cook and runs east with the Same fifty four poles to a hickory and dogwood, thence north eleven and one half degrees east forty poles to a Small Chesnut with Chestnut & dogwood pointers thence north thirteen degrees east forty three poles to a stake and pointers Thence west Sixty eight and one half poles to a small hickory, thence South eighty two poles to the beginding (sic) and by these presents I convey and do bind myself my heirs and assigns to warrant and defend the right and title of the above Specified parcel of land with the appertainance there to belonging to him the Said C C Cook his heirs and assigns forever in witness hereof I have hereunto affixed my hand and seal the day and date first written Mary Gregory {seal} (her x mark) Test John H Berill Wm F Morris State of Tennessee Personally appeared before me R. F. Sims Clerk of the county court Franklin County in said state John H. Berill & Wm F Morris the subscribing witnesses to the foregoing deed with whom I am personally acquainted and who being duly sworn deposeth and Say they even both personally acquainted with Mary Gregory the bargainer to the foregoing deed of conveyance and she signed the Same and acknowledged it to be her act & deed for the purposes therein contained and on the day it bears date this - day of January 1859 Witness F.
