Davis, Jas. W. to Heudgins, Jno. B.
I James W. Davis have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and
convey unto John B. Heudgins his heirs forever for the consideration of
seventy five dollars to me paid for a tract of land in the State of Tennessee
and Franklin County lying in district No. 14 containing by estimation eleven
acres more or less and bounded as follows viz. Beginning at north east corner
of John B. Hudgins twenty seven acres on which he now lives also in Mary
Grigory south line on a hickory runs thence east with Mary Grigory a line
forty nine poles to a stake thence south eighteen poles to W. Methers corner
thence a little south of west to a hickory the same being the line between
Heudgins + Miller twenty five poles thence south west forty poles to a stake
in C. C. Cooks east boundary line then a little west of north 26 poles to said
Heudgins line thence north with said Heudgins line to the beginning  To have +
to hold the same unto John B. Heudgins his heirs + assigns forever I do
covenant with the said John B. Heudgins that I am lawfully seized of said land
and have a good right to convey it and that the same is unincumbered I do
further convenant + find myself my heirs and representatives to warrant +
forever defend the title to said land to John B. Heudgins heirs + assigns
against lawful claims of all persons whatever this July 25th 1868

Personally appeared before me John G. Enochs clerk of the county court of said
county + State Jas W. Davis the bargainor named in the above instrument of
writing with whom I am personally acquainted and acknowledged the same to be
his act + deed for the purposes therein contained witness my hand at office in
Winchester this Decr 28th 1968
