Indenture between the Heirs to Richard Holland and Jacob Sanders 11 Jan 1840 Deed Book O 1834-1840 (pages 430-431) "The heirs to Richard Holland, to wit, Joseph Little, Samuel Holland, Greenberry Holland, Elizabeth Sr., Ephraim Pitts, Mary Holland, Madison Williams, Sarah Holland, and Susanah Holland to Jacob Sanders 100 acres. 11 Jan 1840." "This indenture made this eleventh day of January one thousand eight hundred and forty Between the heirs of Richard Holland deceased, Joseph Little, Samuel Holland, Greenberry Holland, Elizabeth Holland, Sr. Ephraim Pitts, Mary Holland, Madison Williams, Sarah Holland and Susannah Holland all of the state of Tennessee and County of Franklin, of the one part and Jacob Sanders of the State and County as aforesaid, Witnesseth that for and inconsideration of the sum of four hundred dollars in hand paid by the said Jacob Sanders The heirs of Richard Holland as above mentioned have bargained and sold and by these presence do bargain sell and confirm until the said Jacob Sanders his heirs executors, administrators, and assigned forever and certain tract or parcel of land, situate lying and being in the state and county of aforesaid, bordered as follows, beginning at a post oak it being a corner of Edward Sevan Senior and Nathaniel Wilder, then south one hundred poles to a red oak, then one hundred and eighty poles to a black oak hickory. Thence crossing the branch forty poles to several small maples thence north forty-five degrees east eighty pleas to post oak and pointers. Thence east one hundred and twenty poles to the beginning. Containing one hundred acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold all and singular the said tract or parcel of land on above mentioned do together with all and the rights profits benefits privileges thereunto belonging or in the least wise incident or there until ascertaining unto the said Jacob Sanders his heirs and assigns forever and the said heirs of Richard Holland as above mentioned do for themselves their heirs and assigns. Warrant and forever defined the above mentioned tract or parcel land unto the said Jacob Sanders his heirs and assigns against themselves their heirs and assigns forever and against the claim of every person or persons lawfully claiming the same or any part of parcel thereof. Brazelton clerk of the county court, of said county, Joseph Huddleston, Jr. and Spruce M. Woods the subscribing witness to the within Deed of conveyance who being duly sworn dispose and say they are personally acquainted with Elizabeth Holland and Mary Holland two of the bargainers named in said Deed and that they acknowledge it to be their act and Deeds, in their presence, upon the day it bears date, and also personally appeared before me Joseph Little, Samuel Holland, Ephriam Pitts by his agent Samuel Holland Green B. Holland Madison Williams John B. Hawkins Guardian of Sarah Holland and Lewis Perkins, Guardian of Susannah Holland, the balance of the barg____ named in the said within Deeds of conveyance, with whom I'm personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed said deed for the purposes therein contained.
