The column announces the death of the "very estimable lady of our town, Mrs. Lou
Bennett," who is 
described as the wife of J.K. Bennett (John King Bennett). She died the Sabbath
morning at 3 o'clock after 
an illness of typhoid pneumonia. She was the daughter of R.W. Featherston, deceased.
She married Mr. 
Bennett in 1873. She was a mother to two children and a stepmother. She was a member
of the Christian 
Church. She was interred in the cemetery "at this place." She was 41 years old.



Additional Comments:
Luvenia Bennett was married to Perry H. Parks in 1857. Following his death she
married John King Bennett 
in, 25 September 1873. They had two children together: Charles King Bennett (died
1947)and Lu Bennett 
Yancey (died 1968). J.K. Bennett had three children by his previous marriage to M.T.
Allen. Following the 
death of Luvenia Bennett, J.K. Bennett married Florence HInes in November 1878.
