Charles Carroll sells 67 acres to his son, Peter Hunter Carroll, 1876.
Registered 4th April AD 1876

Chas Carroll Deed to P.H. Carroll

I Charles Carroll of the County of Gibson and State of Tennessee have this day
bargained and sold transferred and conveyed unto P.H. Carroll and his heirs
forever, for the consideration of love and affection that I bear to him and
for the further consideration of four hundred dollars which amount is to be
paid in cash notes the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged a certain tract
or parcel of land lying and being in Gibson County and State of Tennessee
Civil District No 10 [ ??bounded ] as follows. Beginning at a Poplar North
East corner of my tract of land [     ] thence west one hundred and thirty
five & ½ poles to a stake to my [  ?  ] Northerly North West corner. Thence
south eighty three & 1/4 poles to a stake with black gum and dogwood [ ? ]
thence east one hundred and thirty five & ¼ poles to a stake with popular and
dogwood [  ?  ] thence eighty two and 1/4 poles to the beginning containing
sixty seven acres and [  ?  ] poles to have and to hold the same to the said
P.H. Carroll his heirs and assigns forever do covenant with the same P.H.
Carroll that I am lawfully sized of said land and have a good right to convey
it and the same is [  ?  ] further bind myself and assigns to warrant and
forever defend the title to the said land to him the [  ?  ] P.H. Carroll
against the lawful claims of all persons whatever [claiming ?] a lein on said
land until the four hundred dollars is collected given under my hand and seal
this the 14 day of March 1876.
