Carrol purchases 104 acres from Johnston Williamson, Aug 12, 1848 From Gibson County Court Minutes, Registered August 17, 1850, p. 215. Johnston Williamson To John W. Carrol, Deed: This indenture made this twelfth day of August, Eighteen Hundred and forty Eight between Johnston Williamson of the County of Cumberland and State of Pennsylvania of the one part and John W. Carrol of the County of Gibson and State of Tennessee of the other part [witnesseth ?] that the said Johnston Williamson for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and ten dollars to me in hand paid by the said John W. Carrol the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained sold conveyed and confirmed unto the said Jn W. Carrol his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situated lying and being in the county of Gibson and State of Tennessee on the waters of Rutherford fork of Obion River bounded as follows beginning at a poplar on Blounts line running north with said line one hundred and eleven poles to a small black oak with dogwood and black oak pointing then west one hundred and fifty poles to a large black oak with hickory dogweed and elm pointing then south one hundred and eleven poles to a stake on H. Canadays line with three oak [points?]. Then east one hundred and fifty poles to the beginning containing one hundred and four acres -- to have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits emoluments hereditamints and appurtenances of and to the same belonging or in any way appertaining to the only proper use and benefits of the said Jn W. Carrol and his assigns forever and the said Johnston Williamson for himself his heirs executors and doth covenant and agree to and with the said Jn W. Carrol his heirs and assigns that the before recited and bargained premises he will warrant and forever defend against the rightly title or in trust of all and every person or persons whatever. In testimony whereof the said Johnston Williamson hath hereunto unto set his hand and seal the day and year above written. Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of us: S. H.
