Penny ==================================================================== Gibson County, Tennessee-Deed Book K, page 285 This indenture made this seventh day of October in the year of our Lord One thousand eight-hundred and forty four between George C Ferris and Mary Crafton of Gibson County and state of Tennessee of the one part and James Penny of the county of Gibson and state of Tennessee of the other part witnesseth that the said George C Ferris & Mary Crafton for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred Dollars and -- cents to them in hand paid by the said James Penny the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged hath given granted Bargained and sold alienated conveyed & confirmed unto, the said James Penny his heirs and asigns forever a certain tract or parcel of Land situated Lying and being in the county of Gibson Tennessee One Hundred & eighty acres granted to William Deacon by No. Grant 26922 and by no of warrant 1886 dated 11th December 1829 By No Special act passed the sixth of November 1829 it being the same tract of land which said Ferris bough from Elijah Webb & Bounded as! follows to (sic) in the 13th survey (sic) district in the third and fourth range and second section Beginning on a White Oak & Poplar forty poles north of the south east corner of Thomas P Deavux 500 acre entry thence north with said Deavux line 200 poles to a Black Oak & Poplar thence east 145 1/2 poles to Willow Oak & White Oak thence south two Hundred poles to a Black Oak & Poplar - thence west to the Beginning one Hundred & eighty two acres be the same more or less. To have & to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights forfeits endowments here documents and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any misc appertaining to the only proper use thereof of him the said James Penny his heirs and asigns forever and the said George C. Ferris & Mary Crafton for themselves their heirs executors and adminstrators do covenant and agree with the said James Penny his heirs or assigns that the before recited land & Bargained Premises he will warrant & forever defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person whatsoever. In witness where of the said George C.
