Harper, 1849 Source: Wilson County, TN - Deed Book X, pages 454 & 455 (Page 454) This Indenture made & interred into this tenth day of December in the year Eighteen hundred & forty nine by & between Benjamin Davis of the County of Gibson & State of Tennessee of the one part & Henry D. Harper of the County & State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Benjamin Davis for & in consideration of the sum of Twelve Hundred dollars to him paid by the said Henry D. Harper the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold, & conveyed & by these presents do grant, bargain, sell & convey to the said Henry D. Harper his heirs & assigns all the right, title, interest, and claim to three tracts of land lying & being in the County of Wilson & State aforesaid on the waters of Spring Creek. One tract containing by estimation one hundred & forty acres butted & bounded as follows: Beginning on a Walnut the beginning corner of the tract of land belonging to the heirs of Green Tucker dec'd; running thence twenty six poles to an Elm & Oak, Benjamin H. Hobson's East boundary line; thence South sixty eight poles to a Swamp Oak; thence East crossing the Lebanon Road, to two Cedars; thence South ten poles to a Cedar supposed to be Thomas P. Holman's North West corner; thence East with his line sixty six poles to a Hickory; thence North to an Elm in Lewis Sutton's heirs line; thence West with said line to the said road to an Oak; thence with said road a North course ninety poles to a stake on Thomas Bradley's West boundary; thence West to the East boundary line of the said tract of land belonging to the said Tuckers; thence with the said Tucker's line South to the beginning. The second tract containing Thirty Two acres butted & bounded as follows: Beginning four poles East of an Elm marked as a corner, being the South West Corner of a tract of land conveyed by Thomas Bradley to John Hearn; thence East one hundred & thirty poles to a stake; thence South forty poles to a stake; thence West one hundred & thirty poles to a stake in the road leading from Lebanon to Belotes Ferry on Cumberland River; thence nearly North with said road to the beginning. The third tract bounded as follows to wit: Beginning at a Walnut one hundred and twenty poles East of the road leading from Lebanon to Belotes Ferry on Cumberland River, Paskel P. Hudson South boundary line; thence East Eighty eight poles to a Cedar said Hudson's South East corner; thence South seventy eight poles to two Ashes; thence West 25 degrees, North ninety six poles to a post Oak; thence North passing the said Benjamin Davis Corner at two poles in all forty poles to the beginning containing by estimation thirty two acres & eighty poles. To have & to hold the said tracts of land with all & singular the rights, profits, encumberments, hereditaments & appurtenances of in & to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use & behoof of him the said Henry D. Harper his heirs & assigns forever & the Benjamin Davis for himself, his heirs or assigns that the before recited lands & bargained premises he will warrant & forever defend against the right, title, interest or claim of all & every persons whatsoever. In witness whereof the said Benjamin Davis hath hereunto set his hand & affixed his seal the day & date above written.
