Deed, John P. Henry to Nimrod Johnson. Registered August 22nd 1848. Deed Book M, p. 47, Gibson County Court House. This indenture made and entered into this fourteenth day of August in 1848 between John P. Henry of the County of Gibson and State of Tennessee of the one party and Nimrod Johnson of the County and state aforesaid of the other part witnesseth that the said John P. Henry for and in consideration of the sum of five hundred eighty seven dollars and 50 cents to him in hand paid the receipt which is hereby acknowledged had given granted bargained and sold and by thes presents doth give grant bargain and sell unto the said Nimrod Johnson his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing one hundred and twenty acres situated lying and being in Gibson County Tennessee 13th Surveyors District third Range and first section. Beginning at a hickory and black oak the northwest corner of a 320 acre entry in the name of Joel Penson thence south fifty poles to Wm P. Seats north west corner thence east one hundred thirty three poles to a stake Seats corner thence south fifty one & 6/10 poles to a stake Seats corner thence east one hundred & twenty three poles to a stake & Seats north east corner on the east boundary line of said 320 acre entry thence north with the same one hundred one & 6/10 poles to a black oak the north east corner of the said 320 acre tract thence west two hundred fifty six poles to the beginning it being a part of said 320 acre tract. To have and to hold the aforesaid land with all and singular the rights profits emoluments [?] and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging or in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and [?] of him the said Nimrod Johnson his heirs and assigns forever and the said John P. Henry for himself his heirs executors and administrators do covenant and agree with the said Nimrod Johnson his heirs and assigns that the before receipted land and bargained premises [?] warrant and forever defend against the claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever.
