G. Butler his heirs and assigns forever the following described tract or parcel of land Situate lying and being in the 17th civil district of Gibson County, Tennessee and bounded and described as follows, to wit. Beginning at the north east corner at a dogwood with elm pointers running thence South ___ poles to a stob with black oak, red oak pointers then west poles to Zack Hudsons line Thence North poles to J. G. Butlers corner then East to the Beginning corners on J. G. Butlers land, containing 16 acres more or less, it being a part of the Burrell Patterson farm bought by W C Pratt and said parcel or strip of land lying between J. G. Butlers two (2) tracts. To have and to hold the above tract or parcel of land to the said J. G. Butler his heirs and assigns forever. I do covenant with the said J. G. Butler his heirs and assigns that I am lawfully seized of said tract or parcel of land, and that the same is unencumbered and that I have a good right to convey the same. I do further bind my self my heirs and representatives to forever Warrant and defend the title of said land to the said J. G. Butler his heirs and assigns. In witness thereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Nov 2nd 1889. W. C. Pratt State of Tennessee, Gibson County Personally appeared before me A. W. Foster Clerk of the County of court and Said County, the within named W. C. Pratt the bargainer with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that he executed the written instrument for the purposes therein contained.
