Penny ==================================================================== Registered Dec 18 1868 WW Penny to Deed BM Swain Deed Book 1, p322 I WW Penny of the State of Tennesse & County of Gibson have this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to BM Swain of the State and County aforesaid for the consideration of twenty dollars per acre ammounting to the sum of nine hundred and sixty dollars $960. The receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged a tract of land situated in Civil District No7 County and State aforesaid containing by estimation 48 acres Bound as follows to Wit Beginning on the North East Corner of said tract on EB Mobleys West line Thence West 94 poles to a Stake Hickory and Sweet Gum pointers Thence South 136 ½ poles to a Stake & honey locust pointers then North 36 ½' East 45 ½ poles to a Stake in the Brownsville road thence East 28 poles to a Stake thence North 52 poles to the Beginning to have and to hold to the said BM Swain his heirs and assigns forever I do covenent with the said Swain that I am lawfully seized up (?) said land & have a good right to convey the same And I bind my! self my heirs and assigns to forever defend The title to said land owing (?) part thereof to the said BM Swain his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whatever Signed Stamped and delivered this the 16th day of December 1868 WW Penny (Seal)
