Commercial Appeal
MILAN, Tenn., Feb. 14, 1959. Elias Tilford Butler, retured farmer of the Salem 

Community near here, died at his home at 2 Saturday morning. He was 79. 

Services will be held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon at the Salem Methodist Church.  

The Rev. G. S. Smith and Elder T. L. Webb will officiate. Burial will be at 

the Oakwood Cemetery here with Bodkin Funeral Home in charge.  Mr. Butler was 

bor in Gibson County and was a member of the Sitka Church of Christ.  He 

leaves his wife: a son, Sam L. Butler of West Point, Miss.: Four daughters, 

Mrs. John D. Stewart and Mrs. Edward Stewart of Milan, Mrs. Ernest Barksdale 

of West Point and Mrs. L. T. Mucci of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five grandchildren and 

one great-grandchild.
