THE WILL OF NIMROD JOHNSON: I Nimrod Johnston of the County of Gibson State of Tennessee do make and ordain this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time heretofore made. 1st. I direct that after my decease my body be buried at Oak Grove in such manner as my condition in life may demand. 2nd. I will, as soon after my death as possible, my funeral expenses and all of my debts be paid out of any moneys that I die possessed of or may come into the hand of executors. 3rd. I will and bequest to my loved wife Susan all my property real and personal during her natural life requiring her to let my single children to remain with her and enjoy support of the place. And if they marry before her death she is to give them the same amount of property that I have given to my married children, not counting the negro. 4th. I will that after the death of my wife that all the remaining property be sold and the proceeds divided equally between all my heirs. Should any of my children be single at the death of my wife, they are to be make equal with the married heirs before the said division takes place. 5th. I ordain and appoint my lived wife Susan Johnston my executrix to this my last will and testament.
