MATTHEW CAMPBELL was born About 1780 in Virginia or Washington County, TN. He
was one of six known children of James Campbell and his wife Jane maiden name
not known. He married JANE "Jennie" McDaniel  a daughter of ____McDaniels and 
Ellen Reynolds March 05, 1798. She was born Abt. 1782 in what later became
Jefferson County, TN and died After 1838.

[Jane "Jennie" Reynolds was a first cousin to Governor John Reynolds of 
Illinois (1788-1865)]

February 09, 1806, Grainger Co, TN; d. Abt. 1866, Chandlerville, IL.
   5. CHARLES CAMPBELL, b. 1808; d. 1850; m. MARY STONE, August 28, 1830.
   6. ISAAC CAMPBELL, b. 1811; d. 1847.
   7. JANE CAMPBELL, b. Abt. 1813, Grainger Co, TN; d. 1890; m. WILLIAM ELVIN 
SR. CHASE, December 20, 1832, Grainger Co, TN; b. 1810, Washington Co, TN; d.
