Obediah Chase was born about 1779 in Virginia one of four known children of 
John Chase born about 1760 in Saratoga New York and Phoebe Bates born about 
1765 also in New York.
 On January 3, 1801 Obediah and Lavicea "Lovie" Pate were married in 
Montgomery County Virginia. 
They then moved to Washington County, TN and then later into Grainger County.
William Elvin Chase was born about 1810 in Washington County, TN one of four 
known children of Obediah Chase and Lavicea (Lovie) Pate.
Jane Campbell born about 1813 was a daughter of Matthew Campbell, born about 
1780 and Jane McDonald born about 1782 in Jefferson County, TN.
Jane was one of nine children and she had an older sister Nancy Campbell that 
was born September 17, 1806 in Grainger County, TN. Nancy Campbell married 
John Chase (Williams older brother) on March 20, 1827 in Grainger County, TN 
they later relocated exact time unknown to Chandlerville, IL.

	1. MARTHA LOUISA CHASE, b. March 08, 1828; d. August 05, 1854.
	2. EMELINE MELVINA CHASE, b. August 1829; d. May 1833.
	3. LOUISA JANE CHASE, b. December 31, 1830; d. November 1880.
        4. SARAH ORLENA CHASE, b. February 07, 1833, Jefferson Co, TN; 
	   d. October 12, 1872, Jefferson Co, TN.
	5. JAMES ALEXANDER CHASE, b. April 22, 1836; m. TEEN MCKINNEY.
	   Buried at Pleasant Grove Baptist Cemetery, Strawberry Plains, TN
	6. MARY EMILY CHASE, b. April 10, 1838.
	7. MARGARET ELIZABETH CHASE, b. August 14, 1840; d. February 20, 1872; 
	   m. JAMES M. LUNCHFORD, February 02, 1863.
	8. MARINDA NARCISSUS CHASE, b. January 09, 1845; d. April 08, 1876; 
	   m. SETH RENFRO.
	9. NANCY CORDELIA CHASE, b. November 06, 1845.

William Elvin Chase and Jane Campbell were married on December 20th, 1832 in 
Grainger County, TN
William died in February 1850 in Grainger County, TN. Jane passed away 
sometime in 1890.

	   m. RACHEL ANN BALES LETNER, January 10, 1862, Grainger Co, TN; 
	   b. May 18, 1839, Jefferson Co, TN; d. October 27, 1917, Coal Creek, TN.
	4. NANCY A. CHASE, b. 1843, Grainger Co, TN; m. E. WALDRON.
	5. CHARLES C. CHASE, b. 1845; m. CLARA SCHWEICHARDT.
	6. THOMAS NAPOLEON CHASE, b. 1847, Grainger Co, TN; 
	   m. (1) LUCRETIA J. ONEAL; m. (2) LAURA H. RENFRO, 1894; b. 1862.
	   Notes for THOMAS NAPOLEON CHASE:
	   Thomas N. Chase was the President of the Alton, St. Louis and Cairo 
	   Railway Company. The general office was in East St. Louis, IL.
