GRAINGER COUNTY, TN - CEMETERIES - Stalsworth/Stolsworth Family Cemetery http://files.usgwarchives.net/tn/grainger/cemeteries/stalcem.txt Directions: Traveling northeast from Knoxville, Tennessee on US Highway 11W, pass through Blaine, Tennessee & turn right on Indian Cave Road at the east side of town. Continue till the road divides at Nance Ferry Road & Indian Ridge Road. Turn Left & continue on Indian Ridge Road. Indian Ridge Baptist Church is on the right, just past Fennel Road, eight miles from US Highway 11W. The New Indian Ridge Cemetery is on both sides of the road approaching the Church. Continue past the church 1/10 mile east, & turn right onto a gravel lane at the top of the hill. Follow the lane south about 100 yards, & the Stalsworth Family Cemetery is on the right about 50 yards to the west. (As an alternate route, one might consider going to Buffalo Springs, TN. Then take Indian Ridge Road west about two miles to the Indian Ridge Baptist Church.) This cemetery was surveyed by Harlon V. Wells on 25 October 1980. It was clean and well kept throughout. Its somewhat elevated location provides a very beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. The layout of the cemetery is as follows: WEST FENCE _______________________________________________ | | S | F W W M | N O | F M R D L | O U | M | S S S | R T | | | | | | | T H | | | | | | | H | F F F F F ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ | F | M M M M M 6 7 8 9 10 | F E | | | | | | | E N | | | | | | R S S N R | N C | | | ^ | | S S C S C | C E | ^ ^ ^ ^ | | S | | | E | 1 2 3 4 5 | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ | | 11 12 13 14 15 | | | |______________________________________|========| EAST FENCE GATE Obviously some members of this family spelled their surnames differently than others, but they are all of the same family. Thanks to Mr. & Mrs John Stalsworth of Indian Ridge, TN, their grandson, Mark A. Williams, of North Wilkesboro, NC, & other family members for their help in identifying the family relationships of those buried in this cemetery.
