Witnesseth that the said Joseph Green for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged for himself and his heirs hath bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain sell and make over unto him the said John Tally his heirs and assigns forever Part of certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the State of Tennessee and county of Grainger (formerly Green County) being the upper part of a 500 acre Survey Granted to said Green by Patent No. 702. Beginning at a second corner of said survey on the south side of the North fork of Bull Run and runs North 300 poles to a white oak, then west 106 poles to a stake, then south 300 poles to a stake, and then east of the beginning; containing two hundred acres by the same more or less, TO Have and To Hold the said land and promises to him the said John Tally his heirs and assigns forever, Together with all and singular the houses, orchards, mines, minerals and all the priviledges & immunities to the same belonging or in anywise appertaining and do hereby covenant and agree for myself my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant & forever defend the aforesaid land and promises to the said Jno. Tally his heirs and assigns forever, free from the lawful claim or demand of me my heirs, executors administrators or any other person or persons claiming by from or under me or them or either of them; In full Testimony whereof the said Joseph Green have hereunto set my hand and seal the day & date within written.
