JOHN ESTES



   John Estes applied for revolutionary pension while living in Grainger County,

April, 1834. He was born in Louisa County, Va., October 41, [sic] 1751, and

moved to Halifax County, Va., while he was a boy. He enlisted in Halifax County,

Feb., 9, 1776, in the 7th Regiment, Virginia Troops. He was in the battle of

Brandywine. He had a in brother, Thomas Estes. The widow of John Estes drew his

arrears of pension but her name is not given.
