KNOX COUNTY, KY - DEEDS - Giles and Phebe Parman Senr to Freithais Parman ----¤¤¤---- Contributor's Note: Giles Parman and his wife Phoebe Woolsey Parman were married in Greene County, TN in 1799, and lived in that county through 1813. Conveyance - Giles Parman and Freithais Parman 100 - Acres - Cumberland River - Knox County Knox County Deed Book C - Page 332 Dated 29 September 1823 This indenture made the 15th day of September 1823 between Giles Parman and Phebe, his wife, of Knox County and State of Kentucky of the one part, and Freithais Parman, of the same place of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Giles Parman and Phebe, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to them in hand paid the receipt where of is hereby acknowledged, hath this day bargained and sold unto the said Freithais Parman, a certain piece of land, containing one hundred and acres according to survey be the same, more or less, situated lying and being in Knox County in the State afore said on Cumberland River and bounded as follows: Beginning at an elm and black oak standing on the bank of Cumberland River, it being the beginning corner of 200 acres deeded in the name of Leonard C. Shoemaker; thence up the river with its different meanders N 20 W 36 poles; thence N 41 W 52 poles; thence N 72 W 22 poles to a buckeye and large sycamore at the mouth of a branch and on the south bank of Cumberland River; thence S 38 W 28 poles to a white oak; thence S 43 E 32 poles to a white oak and double beech; thence S 23 W 18 to a maple; thence S 46 W 36 poles to a black oak; thence S 57 W 126 to a white oak; thence S 63 E 80 poles to a white oak and dogwood; thence N 57 E 214 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the aforesaid tract of land mentioned with all the appurtenances there unto belonging or any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him, the said Freithais Parman, his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim of him, the said Giles Parman, and Phebe his wife, and other heirs and assigns, and from the Commonwealth of Kentucky or any person or persons from, by or through the said Giles Parman, and Phebe his wife, their heirs or assigns, but no other person or persons whatever will warrant and forever defend the same: In witness whereof we have here set our hands and seal, the day and date above written.
