KNOX COUNTY, KY - DEEDS - John and Hanna Pogue to Giles Parman Jnr. ----¤¤¤---- Contributor's Note: Giles Parman and his wife Phoebe Woolsey Parman were married in Greene County, TN in 1799, and lived in that county through 1813. Conveyance - John Pogue and Giles Parman Jnr. 147 Acres - Cumberland River - Knox County Knox County Deed Book C, Page 17 Dated 6 March 1819 This indenture made and entered unto this First day of February in the year Eighteen Hundred and Nineteen between John Pogue and Hanna, his wife, of the County of Knox and State of Kentucky of the one part, and Giles Parman, Jnr. of the County and State aforesaid, of the other part. Witnesseth that the said John Pogue and Hanna, his wife, for and in consideration of the sum of eight hundred dollars grantec, bargained and sold and by these presents do grant, bargain and sell unto the said Giles Parman Jnr., his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County of Knox, on the south side of the Cumberland River, containing by survey one hundred and forty seven acres, and bounded as follows, to wit: Beginning at an elm, Michael Wilson’s corner, thence; on said river running; thence down the river and winding on the different meanders there of: S 25 E 20 poles; thence S 31 E 32 poles; thence S 19 E 65 poles; thence S 80 poles; thence 15 W 27 poles to a beech and sourwood on the bank of said river upper corner to Elais McKay’s survey; thence S 71 E 67 poles to a double maple; thence N 55 E 110 poles to a horn beam, maple and sourwood; thence N 347 W 257 poles running part of the way with said Wilson’s line to a maple corner to said Wilson’s survey; thence S 55 W 62 poles to the beginning to have and to hold the said tract of land with its appurtenances unto the said Giles Parman Jnr., his heirs and assigns forever free from the claim of the said John Pogue and Hannah, his wife, on their heirs and all persons claiming by, through, or under them or any of them will warrant and forever defend, but from the claim of no other person or persons whatever.
