This indenture made this twenty third day of December in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty four between Richard White of the one part and William "S" White of the other part both of the County of Greene in the State of Tennessee. Witnesseth that the said Richard White for and in consideration of the sum of forty nine dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged both bargained and sold and by those presents doth grant, bargain, sell, alien, [enseff, borney] and confirm unto the said William S. White his heirs and assigns forever a certain tract or parcel of land containing sixteen acres and one road situated, lying and being in the County of Greene and the State of Tennessee in Civil District No. 17 on the headwaters of Lick Creek adjoining the lands of the said, William S. White and Richard White butted and bounded as follows, viz. Beginning at a Persimmon corner to William S. White the owner with his old line South fifty six East thirty four poles to a Chestnut North forty five, East thirty six poles to two Chestnuts. North four poles to a White Oak Spanish Oak & Black Oak, North thirty six East forty four poles to a Black Oak on the said W.S. White old line on the top of a ridge. Thence West thirty eight and a half poles to a stake near a Sassafras, thence South forty, West sixty three poles to the beginning. Together with all woods, ways, waters, mines, minerals. [Heniditaments and Appirtenaras] to have and to hold of and in and to even past and parcel thereof to the only use and behoof of him the said William S. White his heirs and assigns forever. And I the said Richard White My heirs Executioners or Administrators will warrant and forever defend the said lands and premises free from all and every person or persons claim or claims of whatsoever matters they may be both in Law and Equity in writings and testimony.
