His widow Sarah Conway applied for a pension based on his revolutionary service. He was commissioned captain March 10, 1777. He had in all seven years service. The widow stated that they were married in Pittsylvania County, Virginia, July 25, 1769 and that he died in Greene County, Tennessee, September 10, 1812. Note: Three of their children married into the Sevier family. Elizabeth Conway married John Sevier, Jr. in July, 1788 when he was twenty-two years of age and she presumably about the same age. Nancy Conway married James Sevier, a brother of John Sevier, Jr and also a son of Governor John Sevier. Susannah Sevier married John Sevier, son of Colonel Valentine Sevier (brother of Governor John Sevier).
