GREENE COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Lela Colbaugh, 24 May 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Lela Colbaugh, 86, Greeneville, died at her residence on Monday, May 24, 2004. Mrs. Colbaugh was a member of Wayside Free Will Baptist Church. Mrs. Colbaugh was preceded in death by her husband, Luther B. Colbaugh; two daughters, Hildred "Hoodie" Colbaugh and Jewel Dean Ottinger; two brothers, Johnny and Stanley Peters; one sister, Mildred Grindstaff; and her parents, Jim and Nancy (Nan) Peters. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Gale and Nadine Colbaugh, Elizabethton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Phyllis and Roger Laws, Janet Ricker and Tammy Colbaugh and Dean King, Greeneville; eight grandchildren, Teresa Arnold, Penny Erwin, Lynn Ricker, Jeff Ricker, Chris Ricker, Max Laws, Elizabeth Laws, and Deborah Swatzell; 11 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Trula Mae Fisher and Bessie and M.L. Fisher, Elizabethton; one brother and sister-in-law, Sanford and Marie Peters, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Nicole Henderson, Dorothy and Bobby Davis and Mary Cannon. Funeral services will be conducted at Jeffers Mortuary Chapel on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. The Rev. Lynn Neas, the Rev. Gene Swatzell and the Rev. Jeff Gibson will officiate. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Kenneth, Dale and Roger Colbaugh, Richard Hardin, Perry Rambo, Danny Ray Peters, Clifford Peters and Randall Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews of Henry and Creacy Colbaugh and Jim and Nan Peters. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Jeffers Mortuary.
