Marriage Bond 

Daniel Parman and Cynthia Ellender Bird

 

Know all Men by these Presents, That we,

Daniel Parman and John Parman of Greene County and State of Tennessee, our 
heirs, &c, are held and firmly bound unto N. Cannon, Governor of said State, 
for the time being, and his successors, in the sum of twelve hundred and fifty 
dollars, lawful money of said state; yet to be void, on condition that is no 
lawful cause to obstruct the marriage of the said Daniel Parman to Cynthia 
Ellender Bird of said county; otherwise to remain in full force and virtue. 
Witness, our hands and seals, this 1st day of March 1837.

To any authorized Minister or Justice of the Peace:

You are hereby authorized and empowered to solemnize the Rites of Matrimony 
between Daniel Parman and Cynthia Ellender Bird, of said county. And the time 
of such marriage, with your name signed thereto, you shall endorse on the back 
of this license, and return the same to my office within six months 
thereafter, witness my hand, at office, in Greeneville, this 1st day of March, 
1837
