Every effort was made to copy word for word and use spelling as found on the document Benjamin Pickering In the Name of God Amen. Whereas I Benjamin Pickering of Greene County and State of Tennessee being weak in health but sound in memary & understanding thanks be to Almighty God for it do make and constitute this my last will and Testament my body I recommend to the earth be burried in a christian like manner at the discretion of my Executors and as touching my worldly estate I give, dimise and dispose in the following manner. First that all my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid. I give to my several sons Samuel, Ellis, Enos, Benjamin, Jonathan and John the sum of five dollars to each & every of them and to my daughters Rebeckah, Mary and Elizabeth five dollars each to be paid in two years after my discease to as many of sd Legaters as shall be then arrived to the lawful age of an heir and to be paid to the rest as they arrive at the age aforesaid to be raised and livied out of my estate and discharge in good trade all the remainder of my real and movable Estate I give, demise and bequeast my well beloved wife Rebecoh to be in her actual prosession & after my discease to sell and convey the same as she shall see course and also I constitute, make and ordain her my sd wife to be sole and absolute Exectrix of this my last will and Testament and I do here by revoke, disallow and disannull all and every other former Testaments, wills. Legacies bequeaths and Executors by me in any wise named, willed and bequeathed ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and Testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal the second day of the eight month one thousand and eight hundred and six.
