                      Riggs Cemetery

Location:  On a hill on the east side of Sulpher Springs Rd., near 
the intersection of Sulpher Springs Rd. and Fernwood Rd.

The cemetery information was collected over a five year period by 
the Genealogical Society of Hamblen County.  Copies of the books, 
in three volumes, can be purchased from the Society for

It is believed this cemetery was used as a burial place for solders 
during the Civil War, as a house nearby was used as a hospital.
