Tucker tuckarb701@aol.com January 7, 2006, 11:03 am The News-Free Press, Chattanooga,TN August 8, 1984 Emil Ertman Dies at 91; Polish Native, WW I Vet Emil Andrew Ertman, a Polish immigrant who fought as a soldier in World War I, died Tuesday (August 7, 1984) in a Local hospital. He was 91. Mr. Ertman was born in Warsaw,Poland. Chattanooga had been his home for 60 years. He resided at 6308 Bay Lane in Harrison. He was self-employed as an auto mechanic and was a member of First Lutheran Church. Mr. Ertman is survived by four daughters, Mary Delores Ertman of Etowah,Tenn., Julia Ertman Newport of Harrison, Violet Geraldine Tucker of Lakeview,Ga., and Willa B. Hitchcock of Chattanooga; one son, Emanuel A. Ertman of Greenville,Tenn; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. The body is at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 S. Moore Road, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 9, 1984 East Chapel, Chattanooga Funeral Home with Pastor Donald Brenner officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
