Tucker tuckarb701@bellsouth.net January 21, 2006, 12:15 pm Chattanooga Times, March 5, 1993 Leamon Hitchcock Leamon L. "Red" Hitchcock of Chattanooga died Wednesday at his East Ridge home. He was 73. Retired from Combustion Engineering after 40 years, he was a member of First Lutheran Church, and a veteran of World War II, where he served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Willa Ertman Hitchcock; daughter, Jeannie H. Dennis, Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Richard L. Hitchcock, Chattanooga; five grandchildren,Steven Roberts, East Ridge, Stephanie Shelton, Jacksonville, N.C., Lee, Brian and Scott Hitchcock, all of Chattanooga; one great- grandchild; sister, Bessie Maxine Callahan, Chattanooga. Services will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. at First Lutheran Church with the Rev. John L. Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in National Cemetery with Steven Andrew Roberts, Lee, Brian and Scott Hitchcock, Mark Shelton and John Stephen Robetrs serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Chattanooga Funeral Home, East.
