These presents are to authorize you, or either of you, to solemize the rites of Holy Matrimony between James Lay & Rebecca A. Carnes provided always that the said Rebecca A. Carnes be an actual resident of said county, and having given bond and security, agreeably to acts of the General Assembly, in such case made and provided. Given at office in the town of Boliver on the 21 day of February 18 32 and the 56 year of the Independence of the United States of America.
