Provided, always, that the said Mahala Elkins be an actual resident of this County; otherwise, these shall be null and void, and shall not be accounted any license or authority to or either of you, for the purpose aforesaid, more tahn though the same had never been prayed or granted. Given under my hand, at the Clerk's Office, in said County, this 18th day of March, 1834. Tho. Hardeman Clerk Know all men by these presents, that we Isaac Rogers and William Rogers all of the County of Hardeman and State of Tennessee, are held and firmly bound unto the Governor of said State, for the time being, his successors in office, or assigns, in the sum of twelve hundred and fifty dollars which payment well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors, and each and every of us and them, jointly and severally by these presents. Witness our hands and seals, this 18th day of March 1834. The conditions of the above obligation is such, that whereas the above named Isaac Rogers hath this day prayed and obtained License to marry Mahala Elkins. Now if the said Mahala Elkins be an actual resident of the aforesaid county, and there shall not appear any lawful cause why the said Isaac & Mahala should not be joined together in Holy Matrimony, as Husband and Wife; then this obligation to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
