Witnesseth that the said Henry Garner and Betsy his wife for and in consideration of the Sum of Fifty dollars current money the payment of which to them the Garner and Wife hereby acknowledge to have been made before the sealing and delivery of them presents by the said Vincent Garner have and by these presents doth grant bargain and sell unto the said Garner and his heirs forever certain part a parcell of land situated lying and being in Wayne County and State of Kentucky (both sides of) and Beaver Creek Containing twenty acres and Bounds as follows to-wit; Beginning at a hickory and lying on the top of the Cliff of Beaver Creek running thence S81 W100 poles to a white oak and Wm. Smiths line thence N20 E68 poles to a large white oak thence N84 E20 poles to a large poplar S61 E46 poles Crossing the Creek to a small white /// walnut thence S30 E22 poles to the Beginning. To have and to hold the said tract or parcell of land with its appurtenances unto him the said Vincent Garner and his heirs forever and the said Henry Garner & Betsy his wife for themselves their heirs & do covenant and agree to and with the said Garner that they will warrant and forever defend the said tract or parcell of land with its appurtenances unto him the said Vincent Garner and his heirs forever against the claims or claims of them the said Garner & wife as well as against the Claim of or Claims of all and every other person whatsoever. In testimony where of the said Garner and wife hath hereunto Set their hands and seals the date first above written. Henry Garner {seal} Elizabeth Garner {seal} Kentucky Wayne County- October 23rd 1822 This Indenture was this day acknowledged before me in the Clerks office by Henry Garner and Elizabeth his wife parties thereto in their proper person to be their act and deed the said Elizabeth Garner being examined by me privately and apart from her said husband relinquished her right of dower therein.
