ROBERT SMITH Robert Smith applied for revolutionary pension while living in Hawkins County, Tenn., 1818. He was born April 18, 1750. He enlisted under Capt. John Walker in the 1st South Carolina Regiment in Johnson County, S. C. in 1775. He served as a Litutenant. His widow, Elizabeth Smith, applied for pension in Hawkins County, Nov. 17, 1838. She was born in February 1761. She married Lieut. Robert Smith in 1779 in Johnson County, S. C. Robert Smith died in Hawkins County. Tenn., Jan. 3, 1838. She died Jan. 6, 1842. Their children were: Susannah, married, 1808, Grinefield Taylor, son of Daniel and Jane Rowland Taylor; Elizabeth married John Lee; Allen; Redden; Claiborne; Zilphia, married John Draper; Anna; Edith; and Ferraby who married John Monney.
