He was then about 82 years of age. He enlisted in North Carolina in April, 1778, in Captain G. Bradley's company, Colonel James Hogan's North Carolina regiment. He was discharged in December, 1779, at the barracks in Philadelphia. He stated in 1820 that his wife was 76 years of age and that they had no children living with them. He died October 8, 1830.
