HAWKINS COUNTY, TN - WILLS - John Manis, 15 Sep 1855 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Hawkin Co., Tennseess wills pages 372-374 Manis, John dated september 15,1855 My two sons, Nelson and George, to have all my lands which lie in the vally where they now live except the portion which lies north west of a line to be run hereafter from a branch of Lynns corner of a fifty acre grant and to run with a line down to DEBORD'S land and to cross the valley to Andrew FROST'S line at DEBORD'S corner. My four grandchildren to wit: Sarah Manis, Rhoda Manis, Amanda Manis and Lathan Manis to have fifty acres of land to be divided. My son Pleasant Manis land where he now lives. My wife, Celia Manis use and control of plantation and the two places on which Washington Smith and John Robeson now lives and after her death, or marriage, plantation to my two sons, John and Gilbert Manis, who are now minors. My wife, Celia to have negro boy named Rowe and a mule but upon her death, or marriage, executors to sell both and divide proceeds between Nancy Manis, Betsy Fields, Polly Robertson, Celia Manis and Lucinda Manis, my daughters. My wife, Celia, household furniture. My son, John Manis a bay mare colt now one year old, post and saddle and bridle. My son, Gilbert, a bay mare colt, saddle and bridle.
