The State of Tennessee TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME--GREETING: Know Ye, That for and in consideration of the sum of Twelve and one-half cents per acre, paid into the Office of the Entry-taker of Haywood County, and entered on the 2nd day of September 1843 pursuant to the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of said State, passed on the 11th day of January 1842, by No. 25 THERE IS GRANTED by the said State of Tennessee, unto John Curlin a certain tract or parcel of Land, containing One hundred and seventy one 3/4 acres by survey, bearing date the 19th of August 1843 lying in said county, in Range 4 and Section 7. Beginning 93 3/4 poles [1546.88'] South of the South East corner of an occupant entry for 60 acres in the name of Levi Sullivan at a stake, sweet gum, black oak and white oak pointers, in the North boundary of an entry for 200 acres in the name of Reason Jones, running thence North passed the North East corner of said before entry in the name of Levi Sullivan at 107 3/4 poles [1777.88'], in all North 134 1/4 poles [2215.13'] to a stake with 2 white oaks, iron wood & elm pointers, then East passed the South West corner on occupant entry for 100 acres in the name of (missing) at 58 1/4 [poles? 961/13' then] in all East 185 1/4 poles [3056.63'] to a stake, black oak, maple and elm pointers in the County line, then South with the same 134 1/4 poles [2215.13'] to the North East corner of said entry for 200 acres in the Beginning With the hereditaments and appurtenances. To have and to hold the said tract or parcel of Land, with its appurtenances, to the said John Curlin and his heirs forever. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, A. V.
