Felts & others to David Whitaker To all who shall see these presents – Greetings. Know ye that for diverse good causes and considerations, we JOHN F. FELTS, MILES C. FELTS and JAMES M. FELTS of the County of Davidson and State of Tennessee have nominated, made, constituted and appointed and by these presents do make nominate, constitute and appoint and place in our ___ and stead our worthy friend DAVID WHITAKER of the county of Haywood and state aforesaid our true and lawful attorney for ourselves and in our name, place __ and stead to bargain, sell, grant and convey with or without general warranty all that parcel of land situated, lying in the County of Haywood and State of Tennessee on the waters of Black Creek. Containing three hundred and sixty five acres more or less being the same tract of land sold by a decree of the Chancery Court at Franklin in said state in the case of JOHN HILL and others against SALLY FELTS and others as the property of CAREY FELTS, deceased, of which the said CAREY FELTS in his lifetime had conveyed to JOHN T. FELTS one hundred and fifty five acres and to CHRISTOPHER F. FELTS one hundred and fifty five acres and to which the said CAREY FELTS derived __ by deed from DAVID MAULDING and SARAH DYER. Registered in Register's Office of Haywood County in Book A pages 434, 435 & 436 to which reference is hereby made as also the deed to said JOHN T. FELTS and CHRISTOPHER F. FELTS. In one or more tracts as shall best suit purchasers & produce the highest price with the hereditaments and appurtenances thereunto belonging and all the estate right title and interest therein unto said paid person or persons and for such price or prices as he shall think proper and also for ourselves and in our name __ and stead and __ proper and effectual act and deed to make, sign, seal and deliver all such deed or deeds of conveyance as shall be necessary for the conveying and granting the premises according to the terms of the agreement of sale and purchase. Giving and granting to our said attorney by these presents our full and whole power and strength and authority in and about the promises in as full and ample a manner as we possess them hereby ratifying, holding and allowing as firm and effectual all and whatsoever our said attorney shall lawfully do in and about the premises.
