Jones } Filed 31 March 1900 } 12 oclock } Know all men by these presents that we FOUNT HILL & wife MOLLIE J. HILL and HENRY HILL and wife MOLLIE E. HILL for and in consideration of the sum of $185.00 cash paid to the said Fount & Henry Hill as administrators of the estate of RICHARD HILL decd and in consideration of the further fact that during the life time of said RICHARD HILL and __ on 7th day of Oct 1897, he sold to J. H. JONES & J. J. HENSLEY, the land hereinafter set out and described for 4998 lb of good middlin Cotton, one third to be paid on Dec 25 of each of the following years to wit 1898, 1899 & 1900, and whereas the said JONES & HENSLEY had paid all of said purchase price to RICHARD HILL during his life time, except said sum of $185.00. Now therefore in consideration of the premises, we the said FOUNT & HENRY HILL as Administrators of said RICHARD HILL, decd and also as his only heirs at law, he having died in testate and leaving no widow and we their said wives do hereby transfer and convey unto said J. H. JONES all that portion of the tract of land herein described which lies North of the track of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad Company supposed to contain 30 acres more or less to wit - Lying and being in Haywood County Tenn in Range 6 and Section 7. Beginning at a stake with black oak and sweet gum and black gum pointers, the S. E. corner of an occupant of 200 acres in the name of A. Dowdy, running thence east 106 1/10 poles to a stake with red elm, swamp oak & ash pointers thence north 120 poles & 50 links to a stake, hickory & white oak pointers, thence West 106 1/10 poles to hickory marked JHR with a red bud three ash and a white oak pointers, thence South 120 poles & 15 links to the ___, containing 80 acres more or less but reserving and excepting there from 7 acres deeded by J. M. RUTLEDGE to SOLOMON ELROD, now of record in the Register's office, Haywood Co. Tenn in Deed Book 3 on page 312 and thence described, to wit: Beginning in the center of the Louisville and Nashville R. R. Company's tract, where the West boundary of said tract crosses __, runs thence with said Road North 46 degrees, runs East 45 poles to a stake in the center of said road, thence north 44 degrees, West 49 ¾ poles to a small hickory bush, thence __the original West boundary line South 69 poles to the beginning, containing 7 acres more or less. To have and to hold unto the said J. H. JONES, his heirs and assigns forever. We covenant that said land was unencumbered at the time of said sale by RICHARD HILL and that we have good and perfect right to sell and convey same and that we will forever warrant and defend the title to same against the lawful __of all persons whomsoever and the said J. H. HENSLEY joins in this conveyance for the purpose of demising, releasing and forever quit claiming all title, interest and claim & have in said land above described.
