Kelso } This indenture made this 28th day of November in the year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty eight. Witnesseth that JOHN HILL of the County of Haywood and State of Tennessee hath this day of the date hereof bargained and sold to J. F. KELSO of the County & State aforesaid a certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in said County Range 5 & Section 6 being part of 403 acres grated by the State of Tennessee to the said JOHN HILL bearing date September 8th 1848 for and in consideration of the sum of FOUR (?) HUNDRED & SEVENTY TWO DOLLARS & FIFTY CENTS to him in hand paid by the said J. F. KELSO the receipt thereof is hereby acknowledged. Butted and Bounding as follows to __Beginning on a stake South __corner of an Entry for 117 acres in the name of T. A. ADAMS thence East 39 poles to a stake __ & post oak pointers, thence North 38 ½ poles to a stake three post oak pointers thence __to __poles to a post oak five post oak pointers thence south 85 ½ poles to a hickory blk oak __ oak pointers in JAMES ETHERIDGE (?) north __line thence west with said line__98 poles to a stake three post oak __ETHERIDGE'S north west corner thence south __ degrees west 104 poles to two blk oak saplings, thence north with the line of said Grant 77 poles to the beginning containing ONE HUNDRED AND FIVE ACRES. To have & to hold, the aforesaid __ together with the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in __, __ unto him the said JOHN F. KELSO & his heirs & assigns forever. I the said JOHN HILL for my self & my heirs I will warrant and defend this right & title of the aforesaid ONE HUNDRED & FIVE ACRES of land against the claim or claims of all & every person or persons whatsoever.
