Hill and wife } To Deed } Clifton McGee } Filed Jany. 16, 1920. } At 3 O'clock P. M. } KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, That we, JOHN B. HILL and wife MARY E. HILL, in the county of Winston and in the State of Mississippi for and in consideration of the sum of Eight hundred and Fifty Dollars cash to us in hand paid, the receipt for which is hereby acknowledged have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents transfer and convey unto CLIFTON MCGEE and wife BETTIE MCGEE, of Haywood County, Tenn., as tenants by the entirety of their heirs and assigns, the following lot of land or town lot, lying and being in the 7TH CIVIL DISTRICT of Haywood County, Tenn., and in the town of Brownsville, Tenn., and thus more particularly described: Beginning at a stake in the southwest corner of a lot sold to W. T. SR., SHERROD by B. L. CAPELL , and in the east margin of depot street, extended, runs thence north with said street 50 feet to a stake, thence east 200 feet to a stake, in NAYLOR'S (now Williams) west lines; thence south with NAYLOR'S line 50 feet to a stake, in ROSS'S northeast corner, thence west with Ross's north line 200 feet to the beginning and being the same lot conveyed to JOHN B. HILL by W. T. SHERROD by deed recorded in deed book No. 48 at page 604 of the Register's Office of Haywood County, Tenn. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said above described town lot with all improvements and appurtenances thereunto belonging to them the said CLIFTON MCGEE and wife BETTIE MCGEE, as tenants by the entirety their heirs and assigns forever. We covenant with the said CLIFTON MCGEE and wife BETTIE MCGEE, their heirs and assigns that we are legally seized and possessed of the said town lot; that we have a good right to sell same, and that the same is unencumbered. We further covenant and bind ourselves and our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to said parcel of land or townlot to them, the said CLIFTON MCGEE, and wife BETTIE MCGEE, their heirs and assigns, against the lawful claims of all persons whomsoever. The grantors are to pay the state and county taxes and the city taxes on said lot for the year 1919 and possession to said lot is to be given on the 1st day of Jany. 1920. HULL Circuit Clerk in and for said State and County at Louisville, Mississippi, duly commissioned and qualified, JOHN B. HILL and wife MARY E. HILL the within named bargainors, with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledged that they executed the within instrument for the purposes therein contained. And the said MARY E. HILL, wife of JOHN B. HILL, having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband, the said MARY E. HILL, acknowledged the execution of said instrument to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
