Hill, Mary Alice Hill and Ida Hill were children of James Napier Hill, the son of John Hill. John Hill was one of the sons of Green Hill (Jr), who died in Williamson County, and was the uncle of Rev. Richard Hill. With the exception of Green Hill, they all lived in the vicinity of Hillville, Haywood County, Tennessee ********************************************************************************* S. W. Hill et ux et al } To Deed } L. P. Wilkes } Filed Oct. 9th, 1914 } At 8 o'clock A. M. } KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, that we S. W. HILL and wife EMMA HILL and JULIA HILL, widow of J. N. HILL, deceased, and ALICE SHORT and husband, DAVE SHORT, and IDA STUART and husband, B. W. STUART, said S. W. HILL, ALICE SHORT and IDA STUART, being all and the only children of said J. N. HILL, deceased, for and in consideration of the sum of THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS, to in cash in hand paid and in proportion to our respective interests in the hereinafter described tract of land and in full payment for same, have this day bargained and sold and do by these presents hereby transfer and convey unto L. P. WILKES, his heirs and assigns forever, the following described tract of land, lying, being and situated in civil district No. 1 of Haywood County, State of Tenn. and is thus described, to wit: - - Beginning at a sassafras and hickory, with two white oak pointers on the south bank of Hatchie River, runs thence west 46 poles to a sweet gum and hickory pointers, thence north 43 poles to a sweet gum and white oak pointer, thence west 6 poles to a stake, with beech pointers, thence north 94 poles to a stake on the bank of Hatchie River, white oak pointers, thence up said river with its meanders to the beginning and containing 67 acres, more or less and is the same tract of land conveyed to said S. W. HILL and J. N. HILL, deceased, by deed from ANNIE B. CLARKE on 8th day of June 1897 and conveyed to said ANNIE B. CLARKE by deed from G. W. DOYLE and wife and now of record in Registers Office of Haywood County, Tenn., in deed book No. 11 at page 34 and both deeds hereby referred to for description. TO HAVE AND TO HOLD to him the said L. P. WILKES his heirs and assigns forever. We covenant that we have a good and perfect right to sell and convey it and that same is unencumbered and we bind ourselves our heirs and personal representatives to forever warrant and defend the title to same against all lawful claims. MALONE, a notary public in and for this said State and county duly commissioned, sworn and acting the bargainors in the foregoing and attached deed, S. W. HILL and his wife EMMA HILL both of whom I am personally acquainted who severally acknowledged that they executed the said deed for the purposes therein contained and EMMA HILL wife of the said S. W. HILL having appeared before me privately and apart from her husband she, the said EMMA HILL, acknowledged the execution of said deed to have been done by her freely, voluntarily and understandingly without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed.
