Thos J. Hill was his cousin. Richard's father was William Hill; Thomas' father was John Hill. William and John were 2 of the sons of Green Hill, Jr. W. G. Roulhac married one of Thomas' sisters. W. V. McMahen was married to one of Richard's sisters. Number 410 } Thos. Hill } To} Deed } Richard Hill } Filed 17th December 1850 } KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS that in consideration of Two dollars & fifty cents to me in hand paid by RICHARD HILL the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged. I have this day bargained and sold and by these presents do bargain & sell, transfer and deliver unto the said RICHARD HILL his heirs, assigns a certain tract or parcel of land situated in the County of Haywood and State of Tennessee & included in a Grant bearing date November 14th 1849 & No. 109 (?) to THOS. J. HILL and Beginning at a stake & beach pointers 6 poles west of a two hundred & fifty acre entry in the name of RICHARD HILL thence north 94 poles to a stake on the Bank of the BIG HATCHIE RIVER, white oak & Hickory pointers thence down said River with its meanders to a stake & Willow oak __ it being the North East corner of a tract of land this day deeded to WM. V. MCMAHEN by me thence South 116 (?) poles to a Stake with Sassafras and White oak poles to the Beginning containing by Estimation 97 acres the same more or less to have and to hold the above described tract of land to himself, his heirs __ against myself, my heirs __the right title of the above described tract of land to himself, his heirs. I do hereby warrant & against the claims of all & every __whomsoever to __RICHARD HILL his heirs &___.
