Nancy's son, Samuel P. Moore married Alfred's daughter, Amanda. Alfred's brother, William Goodman, married John Hill's daughter Mary F. Hill. !! ********************************************************************************* Haywood County, Tennessee Will Book E, Page 28 Filed January 1854 I, ALFRED GOODMAN, of Haywood County, State of Tennessee, being at this time in feeble health but of sound, disposing mind and __, deem it right and proper both as it regards myself and family that I should make such disposition of my estate as I may desire and think most likely to promote their welfare and comfort. I do therefore make, ___ and publish this my last will and testament hereby revoking and making void all other wills by me at any time heretofore made. In the first place it is my will and desire that all my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my executor hereinafter named as soon after my death as practicable out of any monies that may first come into their hands within from the sale of any property that I may direct to be sold or otherwise. An agreement having been lately entered into and duly recorded in the Register's Office of Haywood County, Tennessee between myself and my wife, Nancy H., by and in which certain Negro slaves and other property therein named and specified and conveyed to S. P MOORE as Trustee for her use and secured to her and her children. Now in addition to the provision therein made for her, I wish her after my death to be furnished by my Executors out of my estate 25 barrels of corn, 1200 lbs pork or 800 lbs Bacon, 100 lbs sugar and 50 lbs coffee which said provisions I consider as more than equal to the portion of my estate to be given to my children. I wish my Executors as soon as they deem it advisable after my death to sell and convey by good and sufficient title either by private or public sale as they may think best in two equal payments of one and two years __my tract of land containing two hundred and one half acres in said County of Haywood adjoining the tract on which I now live and formerly owned by JOHN HILL and my Executors are hereby authorized to sell off any such surplus stock or other property as may not be needed by my children and out of the proceeds of such sales or any other monies that may come into their hands, I wish my Executors to purchase a small tract of land at such price as they may __ and think most to the advantage of my children for them a comfortable__upon which I wish them to live together until my son ALFRED H. may come of age and to keep all of my Negroes and property together and work them on the farm for their mutual support and benefit should __ , but should this not be the case then my Executors may hire out the Negroes and make such other provisions for the support and education of the children as they may think best. So soon as my youngest living child by my first wife shall arrive at the age of 21 years then I wish all the property of every kind and description to be sold by my Executors at public sale on 12 months credit and out of the proceeds of such sale I wish each of my children ROBERT G., NANCY, MARY, WILLIAM V. and ALFRED H. to be paid six hundred dollars to make them equal to a Negro boy valued at that sum which I have heretofore given to my daughter, SALLY ANN HAYNES*, wife of N. S. HAYNES and should any of my children above named have died leaving living offspring then the share that said deceased child would have received to go to their children. And all the remainder of my estate of every kind and description whatsoever I wish to be divided into as many equal shares or divisions as I may then have living children or the living offspring of such of my children as are had to be counted in place of such demand permit. Our division of or portion of said money or property divided as aforesaid to be given off to each of my said children above named or the living bodily heirs of such of them as may be __except two portions or divisions of the same to be held by my Executors one of which to be given to my daughter, MITTIE, by my present wife when she arrives at the age of twenty one years. And the other division to be given to my daughter AMANDA MOORE wife of S. P. MOORE should she ever be left a widow. An in case my said daughter MITTIE should marry and die before she arrives at the age of 21 years having any living child or children, then said child or children to have her share or should my said daughter MITTIE die before she becomes of age without leaving bodily issue, or should be said daughter AMANDA die without having been left a widow then or in either of these cases the said division or divisions __by my Executors as aforesaid for them to be divided equally between my other children as above or __heirs. I do hereby appoint my brother WILLIAM G. GOODMAN, of Tipton County, and my son ROBERT G. GOODMAN Executors of this my last will and testament. Witness my hand and seal this 23rd day of June A. GOODMAN the executors herein named came into court, were duly qualified and entered into and acknowledged their Bond, in the sum of TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLARS with W. H. MURPHY and W. H.
