Written on both sides of 1 piece of white paper 12"x7 ½" by three hands. - RGE 2003 Know all men by these presents that I, Newton Mckenzie hav this day bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey to John C. Smith and his heirs forever for the consideration of three hundred and fifty dollars to me paid a tract of land in Tennessee Henderson County 6th Range & 8th section Civil District number 11thon Cane Creek of beech river containing by estimation sixty three acres be the same more or less and bounded as follows Viz Beginning on a stake two poplars dogwood and rellbuck (?) pointers 87 7/10 poles East from the southeast corner of a tract of land that T. M. Stubblefield bought of I C Trice runs East 103 poles to a stake dogwood blackgum pointers thence 99 poles to a beech dogwood pointers thence Westwardly with the meanders of Cane Creek 103 poles to a beech hickory and elm pointers thence South 99 poles to beginning To have and hold the same to the said John C, Smith his heirs and assigns forever I do coveant with the said John C Smith that I am lawfully seized to said land have a good right to convey it and that the same is unencumbered I do further covenant and bind myself my heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the title to the said land and every part thereof to the said John C.
