1833	Samuel and Moses Dickey bought town lot 28 in Paris, Tennessee from 

Durham Brach for $140. (Henry County Tennessee, Book D, 217.)



Block no. 28 of Paris Tennessee, is in 1931 the N.W. corner of Market and 

Blythe Street, owned by S. H. Jones and others.



This indenture made and entered into this 8th day of March in the year of our 

Lord, one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Samuel Dickey and 

Moses Dickey of the County of Henry and State of Tennessee, of the one part 

and Durham Brack of the aforesaid County and State of the other part 

witnesseth that the said Durham Brack on his part for and in consideration of 

the sum of one hundred and forty dollars in hand paid the receipt whereof is 

hereby acknowledged bargains, sells, grants and conveys and by these presents 

hath bargained, sold, granted and conveyed unto the said Samuel Dickey and 

Moses Dickey of the other part all of his right, title, claim, and interest in 

and to a certain tract or lot of ground being and lying in the town of Paris, 

Tennessee, known and designated as town lot no. 28, to have and to hold unto 

the said Samuel Dickey and Moses Dickey, their heirs and assigns forever 

together with all the rights emoluments appurtenances and hereditaments 

thereto belonging and the said Durham Brack doth further covenant and agree on 

his part to warrant and defend the right and title of the above described town 

lot to the said Samuel Dickey and Moses Dickey their heirs and assigns forever 

against the claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever. In 

testimony whereof he had here unto set his hand and affixed his seal this the 

day and year above mentioned. Moses Dickey's name interlined before signed.
