Reaves Civil Dist. 22 Written: December 17, 1872 Recorded: September 9, 1874 Henry Co., TN Deed Book T pg. 171 & 172 We Ewing Merrell & Joseph Culpepper of the State of Tennessee and Henry County have this day bargained and sold do hereby transfer and convey T. Brent Brown also of the State of Tennessee & Henry County and to his heirs forever for the consideration of Nine Hundred dollars to be paid as follow, to wit Four Hundred dollars in hand paid, Two Hundred & Fifty 1 March 1874, last payment due 1 March 1875 for Two Hundred and Fifty. A tract of land in the state of Tennessee Henry County & in Civil Dist. No. 22 and no reference for discription of boundaries. Is hereby made from a grant from the State of Tennessee made to Wm. R. Reaves on the 15th day of May 1843 and No. 43 for two hundred acres now we do convey to the sd. T. Brent Brown the one half of the sd. grant that is to say one hundred acres be the same more or less to have and to hold the same to the sd. T. Brent Brown his heirs and assigns forever. We do covenant with the sd. T. Brent Brown that we are lawfully seized of said land and have a good right to convey it and the same unincumbered land we do futher covenant and bind ourselves our heirs and representatives to warrant and forever defend the tittle to sd land and every part there of to the sd. T. Brent Brown his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all his heirs whomsoever this December 17th 1872. Signed: E. Merrell J. E.
