J. WATERS, CENTERVILLE Special Dispatch to The American CENTERVILLE, Tenn. Aug. 12- Zachariah John Waters, a substantial citizen of Centreville, died at 2 a.m. today of cancer, with which he had been afflicted for some years. He was also a sufferer from kidney trouble. He was in his seventy-sixth year. Mr. Waters was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church, South; a Mason and a Confederate veteran, serving as a commissioned officer. Veterans will act as honorary pallbearers at this funeral tomorrow. His widow and three grandchildren survive him. Zachariah John Waters was born on November 3, 1833, in Centerville, Tennessee, his father, Zachariah, was 24 and his mother, Rebecca, was 21. He was married three times and had two sons and one daughter. He died on August 12, 1909, in his hometown, having lived a long life of 75 years, and was buried there. Waters succumed to a cancer at 2 o'clock this morning. He was also afflicted with kidney trouble. He was 75 years, 9 months, and 9 days old. He was in independent circumstances, and was esteemed as a worthy citizen. He was a member of M. E. Church, South, a Mason and an ex-Confederate soldier, who was a commissioned officer in the service. Civil War veterans will be honorary pallbearers at his funeral tomorrow morning. Surviving him are his wife and three grandchildren.
