This copy contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives. rootsdigger1@home.com ****************************************************************************** State of Tennessee Humphries County Will of Jesse Jones I, JESSE JONES, state of the County of Humphreys and State of Tennessee, planter, do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoking and all former wills by me at any time heretofore made, and first I direct that my boddy be decently interred in a manner suitable to my Condition in life, And as to direct such worldy estate as it hath pleased God to intrust me with I dispose of the same as follows, First I direct that all my debts and funeral expences be Paid as soon after my decease as possible out of any moneys that I may die possessed of or may first come into the hands of my Executor from any portion of my estate real or personal. Second, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife REBECCA, all the rest of my estate both real and personal during her life.Then after her death to be sold and equally divided between my children. I do hereby Make Ordain and appoint, my esteemed Wife REBECCA JONES, Executrix of this my last Will and Testament in witness Whereof, I JESSE JONES said Testator have to do this my will written on one sheet of paper set my hand and seal this the 6th day of May in the Year of our Lord, One Thousand eight hundred and fifty four. Then was the within last Will and Testament of JESSE JONES, deceased, duly registered in said office in Book H, Page 280. Levi McCollum, Clerk State of Tennessee Humphries County Whereas it appears to the Court here, that JESSE JONES, late of said County is dead, and hath made his last Will and Testament in writing in which he has appointed REBECCA JONES his executrix to the same, which will hath been exibited into Court and proved as the law directs; It is therefore ordered by the said Court that letters Testamentary, of all and singular the goods and Chattels, rights and Credits the said deceased. Issue to the said REBECCA JONES, she having been qualified agreeably to law; These are therefore to impower you the said REBECCA JONES, to enter into and upon all and singular the goods and Chattels rights and Credits, of the said JESSE JONES, Deceased, and the same into Your possession take Wheresoever the same may be found, and a true and perfect Inventory thereof to make and return into our County Court within ninety days from the date of these presents, and the Just debts of the said JESSE JONES, deceased to pay, and also well and truly pay and deliver all the legacies Contained and specified in the said Testament, as fare as the said Goods, Chattels, and Credits Will therunto extend, and the law Charges. Witness, Levi McCollum, Clerk of our said Court at Office the first Monday in June A. D. 1854. STATE OF TENNESSEE Humphreys County Court Clerk's office June 9th 1854 Then was written the within letters Testamentary Issued to REBECCA JONES, on the estate of JESSE JONES, deceased. Duly Registered in said office in BOOK H, Page 281. Levi McCollum, Clerk STATE OF TENESSEE Humphreys County I, W. W. Hobbs, Clerk of the County Court of said County, have this day proceeded to make settlements with W. M. O'Donnely, Administrator with the Bill annexed of JESSE JONES, deceased and beg leave to Submit the following report. To Wit. I find the Administrator charged on Inventory attained the 27th day of June 1867 with the sum of seventy three and 50/100 Dollars $73.50. I find the Administrator to the following credits. To Wit. Paid Clerks fees $3.00 To allow the Guardian for his trouble 25.00 Paid Clerk for making and recording settlement 1.75 Order of Court confirming same .25 30.00 Subtract $30.00 from $73.50 will leave in the hands of the Administrator the sum of 43.50 Respectfully submitted on June 11th, 1869 W. W. Hobbs, Clerk STATE OF TENNESSEE Humphreys County, I, W. W. Hobbs, Clerk of the County Court of said County have this day proceeded to make settlement with W. M. O'Donnely, Administrator of REBECCA JONES, Deceased, and by leave to submit the following report To Wit: I find the Administrator charged on Inventory returned June 29, 1869, with the Sum of On Thousand and twenty seven Dollars and 94 1/4 dollars, $1127.94 1/4. I find the Administrator entitled to the following credits. To Wit. Paid J. E. JONES, his past provisions $32.00 Paid J. E. Shipp proven account 10.98 Paid R. G. Toland 19.61 Paid H. Crockett, assignee of J. H.Thomas, proven acct. 10.75 Paid J. W. Baitt, proven account 5.30 To allow the Administrator for his trouble 75.00 Paid Clerk for making and recording Inventory 2.00 Paid incidental expenses .25 Paid W. M.
