Patterson I John Hancock of Jackson County, State of Tennessee hereby apply to locate and do locate the North East quarter of the South East quarter of Section No. Seventy in township No. Fourteen (14) N of Range No. Eight (8) W in the District of Lands subject to sale at the Land Office at Batesville Arkansas containing Forty(40) acres, in satisfaction of the attached Warrant numbered 14494 issued under the act of 28 September 1850. Receiver} I request the patent to be sent to Batesville Arkansas Land Office, Batesville Arks March 13, 1852 State of Tennessee Jackson County Personally appeared before me Sampson W. Cassity clerk of Jackson County Court Alexander Keith & Samuel J. Keith subscribing witnesses to the within and forgoing power of attorney who being first duly sworn depose and say that they are personally acquainted with John Hancock the bargainer and that he acknowledged the same in their presence to be ______ that he is the identical person named in the Land Warrant. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed the seal of office at office this 10th day of February 1852 Samson W. Cassity {Clerk} State of Tennessee} Jackson County} On this 9th day of February 1852 I John Hancock of the county and state aforesaid do hereby nominate and appoint Z. B. Roberts my lawful agent and attorney for me and in my name to locate the Bounty Land Warrant No. 14494 issued to me from the Pension Office of the United Stated on the 11 day of August 1851 under the Act of Congress 28th Sept 1850 for forty acres of land and I hereby agree & bind myself my heirs & to abide by & ratify whatever any said attorney may do in the premises.
