Hancock for Clem Hancock David Hogg Power of attorney “West’s” Know all men by these presents that we James W. Hancock and Nancy Hancock wife of Clement Hancock who was killed in Battle at Orleans and who served in Capt. West’s Company, have this day appointed David Hogg of Smith County in State of Tennessee our true & lawful attorney for us and in our names to ___ of the United States all such sum or sums of money that may be due said Clement we being his administrators as will be seen by these letters herewith ___ we do authorize said Hogg to do & perform all that we can’t do toward receiving said money more we present ourselves witness our hand & seal 7th Nov. 1815 Nancy [her mark] Hancock {seal} James W.
